This book is not for the faint of heart. It is a page turner and it rocked my world. It brought up a lot of memories for me (some not so good) of my childhood. His writing style made me feel like I was in the situation. I read this book some time ago and there are parts of it that still stick in my memory like I just read the book yesterday. I like the viewpoint and age he wrote from. It made me realize that my crappy childhood was a walk in the park compared to what that poor guy went through. An awesome read!Product details

I thought this book was very well written and had to take a few breaks fro m reading to get my feelings under control.To think that this abuse goes on today is appalling. I am so glad that he was strong enough to survive this and I wanted to take this child in my arms and let him know he was safe and loved.
THIS BOOK WAS VERY GOOD. THERE WERE PARTS WHERE I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. A VERY SAD REALITY OF HOW SOME PEOPLE RAISE THEIR CHILDREN. HARD TO BELIEVE, BUT KNOW IT'S REAL
I have bought and read dozens of books since getting my and this is the first one I couldn't read to the end. There is never a break in the description of abuse, both child and spousal, of scamming people, of stealing, of unbelievable blatent crimes. Never does this author describe a happy moment. It like eating bad meat and not being able to stop. I really hate to believe that people like Jack can continue to operate as long as he did. In the end, there wasn't any point to this book.
I want to start out by saying, this is a must read. One of those that you can hardly put down. I read it on my Fire. And @ times I have I to recharge in order to finish. I honestly enjoyed the way Kennesaw wrote this book. It was as if were there with him. Sad and intriguing story. One that merits to be made into a real movie. I would definitely go see this at the theater. Or maybe a Lifetime movie. It is a story that needs to be seen & heard. I would recommend this book to everyone. Written with great style.. Thanks for sharing your heart. I know it had to be very difficult for you to relive this. I know & understand your passion now to get the word out against child abuse.
Very interesting book.
This was an interesting book that needed to be edited unless the publisher thought the mistakes made it more "homey" or personal.
Anyway, Im glad this guy survived and turned out ok and I hope his sister does too.
This is about abuse the author and his family endured. No one stepped in to help or stop the abuse until one day. That one day finally arrived but with a twist that you do not want to miss out on. You will not want to put this book down until you finish it. It is sad when children are abused but even sadder when no one steps in to help or put a stop to it. Definitely a must read, like reading Stephen king but this is real. It really happened.
